Lameness is one of the major problems on British dairy farms. As well as providing specific treatment for individual lame cows, our vets and Vet Tech can also carry out locomotion scoring so vets can then devise control programmes. ​Elinor is our Vet Tech who is trained and on the Register of Mobility Scorers.

When a farm signs up for a plan, a vet will visit the farm to look at the main lesions in the cows’ feet and look at the factors which will be contributing to this.

Practical advice is then given on prevention and control to reduce the incidence of lameness on the farm.
